We know the holidays are coming up, but we must focus on the hunger crisis affecting millions in our country due to the uncertainty around SNAP benefits. We are determined to remain a beacon of certainty and strength for our community. This newsletter will be focused on hunger and how we can come together for Newport County.
MLK Community Center
Drive Thru Food Drive
Donating food to the MLK Center has never been easier! On Sunday, November 2 we will host a Drive Thru Food Drive. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., drive up to the front of the Center, and our volunteers will take care of the rest. You don't even need to get out of your car!
But wait, there's more! Thanks to our incredibly generous friends, Doug and Nancy, your donations will be matched at $2 per lb. and dollar for dollar, up to $15,000.
Any and all non-perishable food items are needed in our pantry. Thank you for helping us meet the need in Newport County and keeping our community strong.
