Meet the Candidate at Tavern

Hi everyone! I'm Emily Conklin and I am running for Newport City Council Ward 2. I wanted to introduce myself here and invite you all to come out to my first event tomorrow, Sunday 5/31, at 2pm at the Tavern on Broadway. I would love the chance to meet you, share why I'm running, and learn what you'd like to see in a City Councilor. You can learn more on my website: https://www.conklinfornewport.com/

I hope to see you there and regardless, I look forward to meeting you all soon!

Hi Everyone! Just a quick reminder that TOH does not endorse candidates or take positions. We do support sharing of municipal information, event information, learning about local candidates, programs and organizations.

The intent of this Community Group is to "Keep abreast and share issues impacting our community as well as events and activities taking place around the city. This group is for all members to share local events and issues impacting our community. (Replaces the Forum)"

Thank you!

Laurie

Resounding 2026

Sunday, June 7th 2026, 5:30pm 21 Farewell Street, Newport RI

The Newport String Project is delighted to present its annual fundraising concert Resounding 2026 on June 7th at 5.30pm.This year we are thrilled to present Resounding at one of the true historic gems of Newport - the Great Friends Meeting House. Standing at the corner of Farewell and Marlborough, this special building is much more than a landmark. It is a gathering place at the very heart of the neighborhood the Newport String Project has called home for over a decade. With performances by the Newport String Quartet and guest musicians, this uplifting concert promises to be a true celebration of community and friendship.

Summer party attire welcome! While the music will warm your heart, this historic space might get a little chilly - you may wish to bring an extra layer. Reception to follow the concert.

Free event parking available on…
