Wine Tasting

It’s time for the first TOH wine club tasting of 2024! We’d like to host a Spanish wine tasting on Friday, February 9th at our house (63 RI Avenue) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We’ll present four Spanish reds (no Rioja!), a rosé and two whites, as well as Cava/ dry sherry for starters and sweet sherry for dessert. We’ll also provide a marinated shrimp plate (salpicón de langostinos) and a traditional Spanish dessert cake (tarta de Santiago). Please bring a suitable appetizer for sharing; we recommend a Spanish tapas or “Mediterranean” style appetizer — think Spanish omelet (tortilla), “patatas bravas” (spiced roasted potatoes), kebabs (pinchitos), charcuterie (manchego cheese and chorizo or jamón serrano), olives, or stuffed grape leaves, tabouli, hummus and baba ganoush (for inspiration you can look up "tapas recipes" on line). Please try to include what you’re bringing in your RSVP so we don’t get all of the same thing. RSVP by 6 February please. Attire is CASUAL. During the event we will also discuss ideas for tasting formats going forward, to make the tastings more inclusive of everyone’s talents.
