“We're incredibly excited to be partnering with 11th Hour Racing, Eastern Rhode Island Conservation District and Black Earth Compost to launch a free curbside food scrap collection pilot program.
This two-year program, which runs from Oct. 5th, 2025 - Oct. 2nd 2027, offers 1,500 eligible Newport residents free weekly compost collection (a $149.99/yr value) and a curbside bin starter kit ($36 value).
It's all made possible thanks to support from 11th Hour Racing’s grant program and space is limited so be sure to SIGN UP TODAY!
Participants will receive instructions on how to compost in the program, a free cubic foot bag of finished compost each spring, and an online account to manage their service.
